About

Beauty is a balance of science and nature, of art and dedication. The aim of this blog is to share with others the ongoing process of cultivating beauty. The #1 topic I get complimented on is my crimson Victorian rag doll curls. Although beauty is an ongoing process of learning, I wanted to share tips and things I have learned as well as methodologies and experimentation.

Current routine:
Heatless ragdoll curls
Morning Routine
Night Routine

Weekly salt steam
Weekly hair mask

The first thing people need to know about their hair is what type they have. Reddit has a great guide for the curly girl method. But everything depends on your type of hair (such as 1a, 2b, or 3c), hair porosity (how well the follicle retains moisture) as to how your hair will react to different treatments. My hair is type 2a which qualifies it as naturally wavy. Different hair types will react vastly different to specific treatments, masks, oils, and techniques. Formulate your routine, armed with facts based on your hairs needs.

Much like a rose, beauty is natural and requires different things at different times. Adjust your routine as the waters flow.

Quick tips:
Use less shampoo, it strips natural protective oils.
Use oil!
Wait until your hair is 90% dry to set it in the velvet rope curls.
